Wagon Rides with Santa
Saturday, December 9th was a beautiful day for a wagon ride with Santa! The Kensington Community Store held an open house to show customer appreciation, inviting everyone for cookies, coffee, hot chocolate and cider. A special treat for the children was an old fashioned wagon ride with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The wagon and horse team are owned and driven by Connie Kahrs of Franklin, Ne. Connie is the daughter of Danny and Sherry Newbrey and her sister, Annette Riley, was helping too. The kids were able to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, put in their special Christmas gift requests, and enjoy the horse-drawn ride around town.

United Church Christmas Program & Potluck
The Kensington United Church youth will present their annual Christmas program on Sunday, December 17 during regular worship which begins at 10:25 AM. You are invited to come and enjoy the 23 youth as they perform their annual Christmas program.
This year’s program is “The Christmas Dream Team Parade” by Celeste and David Clydesdale. Through the delightful music and creative story, the church youth will tell the story of a “normal” family who is trying to get ready for Christmas when the children start complaining. They carry on so much that finally Mom and Dad send them off to bed threatening to cancel Christmas if their attitudes don’t change.
That night in the children’s dream, they find themselves in a Christmas parade. Brynn, the drum major, introduces the daughters to several quirky characters who all have a lesson to teach them. By the time the daughters wake up, they have all changed forever. You will especially enjoy the fun music in the program.
Everyone is invited to attend this special Christmas program. A potluck lunch will follow the program in the church basement. Visitors are always welcome. Have a blessed CHRISTmas season from the Kensington United Church.
Legion Meeting held Dec. 7th
One new member has joined the Legion family. Each month, the members are asked to contribute one dollar to the pot for a monthly drawing. To win, members must be present at the meeting. The pot is up to $44.50. Wes Topple was drawn but not present so the pot goes to next month's meeting and continues to grow.

Kensington Library News
For the month of December we have had the opportunity to use a 3D Printer, lent to us by the Central Kansas Library System. Children and adults alike find this machine is so cool and fun to watch. We have printed many little 3D items such as: a Mickey Mouse, a green elephant, a dice, a fidget spinner, and many snowflake ornaments for Christmas. This has been a great experience for the students to see science at work.
