News for 12/22/21 - Merry Christmas!
Busy Bees 4H club met December 12th to complete their community service project. This month treat bottles and gift sacks were filled to be placed in the boxes distributed by the Christian Laymen’s. This project specifically will be distributed to children in our community.
Paul Ferguson and Brooklyn Stauffer participated in the NW district honor band, and Trinity Coomes participated in the honor choir on Saturday, Dec. 11. Paul received a medal for participating all four years.
Danny Ferguson, Aadyn Blank and Lexi Rust were selected to participate in the Northwest District KMEA Elementary Honor Choir. Twenty-five schools with 130 students from northwest Kansas came together to perform on December 11, 2021.
The awful wind storms on Wednesday, December 15, resulted in numerous damages around the area, but we were more fortunate than many. The carport structure just south of the American Legion was crushed by the huge hackberry.
Commodities Distribution
Reminder that commodities will be available at the Senior Center in Kensington from 4-5pm on Monday, December 27
Kensington Library Holiday Schedule
The library will be open for limited hours during the USD 110 Christmas Vacation. Open Monday from 2-7pm and 9am-2pm the remainder of the week. Holiday closures include: December 24 and 25 for Christmas and New Year’s Day on January 1st. Regular hours resume Monday, January 3. Please call 785-476-8185 for assistance.

Join Us for New Year’s Eve!
The Kensington American Legion will have a soup supper on New Year's Eve starting at 6pm. The legion will provide an assortment of soup. The public is welcome to bring salads, sandwiches, or dessert. We hope you can make it for an enjoyable evening.
The menu this Friday, December 17, will be Salisbury steak, cheesy potatoes, mixed vegetables, and cake for their Friday night special. Please call them if you'd like to get an order to go.
