TR Youth Basketball

Grades 1st through 5th had the opportunity to join the youth basketball teams this winter. Games were played at Rock Hills, Pike Valley and Thunder Ridge on Saturdays in February. The kids all had lots of fun while learning skills and teamwork. Teams were sponsored by Kensington Lions Club. Thank you to all the parents who volunteered their time to help coach these awesome kids.

Thunder Ridge Ballgames & Events

*Scholastic Book Fair @ TRMS

Support our Middle School and shop at the Book Fair! Open this week through March 10th, the Scholastic Book Fair will be held at the Thunder Ridge Middle School in Agra. The book fair can be found upstairs in the Library. All visitors must first report to the office please. Hours include: March 10 from 9:00-4:30 (open after Honors Program); March 11 from 9:00-2:00.

K-town Kates Met

Donna W. opened the K-town Kates meeting Monday February 14, 2022 at the Kensington Community Center with 12 members answering the roll call “what smells makes you recall a special day or moment”.

Deb B. read the minutes of the January meeting and Donna J. gave the treasurers report. Both were declared approved.

Georgetta gave the Food Pantry Report detailing donations and expenses.

Members then played Valentines Bingo followed by delicious dessert from hostesses Deb L. and Donna J.

The March meeting will be dining at the Oz Micro Brewery at Phillipsburg Kansas. Members are to meet at the Kensington Community Center on SUNDAY, March 13 at 5:30 to carpool there. (The restaurant is not open on Monday.)

FOOD PANTRY: The Food Pantry will be Saturday March 19, 2022 from 1:00-3:00. Additional workers will be Loretta and Joyce.


Mat Makers

They will meet again March 19, from 9-noon at the St. John Lutheran Church’s parish hall.


Legion Friday Night

This week at the Kensington American Legion we will have a special of creamy chicken taco soup served with a chicken patty sandwich and dessert. We will have our regular menu as well. Our kitchen hours are 6-8 and you can call 785-476-3204 for us to fix your order to go. Please join us for a great atmosphere, food, and fellowship!


Fundraiser Dinner for Isabella

Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser to help with the medical expenses for Isabella (Bea) Footh will be held Sunday, March 13, 2022. Join us from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Kensington American Legion Post 166 for spaghetti, desserts, tea and coffee for a free will donation. Served by the Kensington American Legion Riders.


Kensington Library

Stop in during the month of March to see the wonderful quilts display. Local ladies and the Prairie Treasures Quilt Guild have provided a beautiful assortment of colorful quilts for us to have on display throughout the month of March, which happens to be National Quilting Month. While you’re here, be sure to ask us about Hoopla if you aren’t already using this amazing, digital resource. We would be glad to set you up with a Hoopla account for access to Ebooks, audiobooks, comics, music, movies, and television series.


Weekly Inspiration

The only time you should be looking back is to see how far you've come. Don't stay in regret. Be proud of yourself for how well you manage. Be proud of you for showing up, even during challenges. Keep your eyes forward!
