TR KAY Banquet

Last Monday, the KAY held their annual award Mother/KAY banquet. It is always on the Monday after prom so the group can use the beautiful decorations. It’s a chance for the group to celebrate their year’s accomplishments and service projects.

KAY President, Jenny Galicia, opened the evening with a word of welcome. Teaghan Hendryx then gave the prayer for the meal, which was catered by Gene’s. After the meal, the group was entertained by a musical program provided by Annie Adams and Pastor Dave Hudson.

A slideshow was then presented highlighting the group’s achievements of service projects throughout the year. From collecting food for the food pantry, decorating doors at Christmas, delivering meals, to hosting a yearbook signing party, doing blood drives, and collecting clothes and shoes for Soles4Souls, the group had a full year of service. This year’s KAY theme was “waves of service”,  which the group accomplished beautifully. KAY’s overall goal is to instill the desire to serve your school and community and to make a better world for future generations. These students certainly did that!

Following the slideshow, certificates of accomplishment were given to students who had achieved high points for the year.

To add some extra fun, Mrs. Robin Billings, the KAY sponsor, mc’ed a quick fashion show of all the girls’ prom dresses, and boys’ attire of the evening.

Micheal Ferguson, Vice President, closed the evening with thank you to all who attended.
