Joshua Billings Graduates 

Joshua D. Billings, MD., son of Greg and Robin Billings and Kip and Ginger Tweedy, graduated from medical school at the David Griffin School of Medicine at UCLA in 2017.  During residency the past seven years, he served as Director of the Colorado Humanitarian Surgical Skills Worship and improved patient outcomes through research and quality improvement. He completed the Surgical Outcomes and Quality Improvement Research Fellowship. He additionally served as the VA Chief Resident in Quality of Safety at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center. He received the Gold Capstone Award while training at the VA’s surgical department and clinical teams training and founded and chaired the Operating Room Culture and Safety Subcommittee. He was also the recipient of the Grover Clinical Science Research Award and Eiseman Clinical Science Research Award. Josh will be moving with his wife, Jessica, to North Carolina after graduation to complete a year long fellowship training in minimally invasive surgery UNC Chapel Hill. 

Laura Beth Bienhoff Graduates

On May 11, 2024, Laura Beth Bienhoff, daughter of Paul and Deb Bienhoff, graduated from The University of Texas School of Law. Paul and Deb as well as Laura Beth's sister Leah Bienhoff traveled to Austin, Texas, to attend the graduation ceremony and celebrate. Laura Beth will stay in Austin to clerk for a year at the Supreme Court of Texas. Following her clerkship, she will return to Houston, Texas, to work at the law firm Haynes Boone.

Legion Friday Night (6/21)

Choice of a Chicken strip basket or we will also have pulled pork burritos. Comes with beans and queso inside the burrito. We will have our regular menu items as well. The kitchen is open from 6-8pm.  You can call 785-476-3204 to have your order ready for pick up.  Hope to see you Friday!

Legion Scholarship Fundraiser 

The Legion scholarship fundraiser is Tuesday, June 25th, from 5:00 until 7:00pm. Dine-in or carry out. Serving: Burgers, hot dogs, chips, potato salad, and baked beans. Also, cold cans of soda. Free will donations greatly appreciated. Call ahead 785-476-3204 to have orders ready for pick-up. Quick and easy meal to deliver out to the harvest fields.

150th Anniversary of First St. John Lutheran

Please plan to attend the 150th anniversary celebration of the founding of First St. John Lutheran church. This event will be held at the Kensington American Legion on July 20th.  Doors open at 6:00pm and dinner will be served at 6:30. Mitch Holthus will be the guest speaker as we celebrate this milestone of our congregation.  Please join us for Mitch's talk and a catered meal. Share A Story at the Library

Smoky Hills PBS will be at the Kensington Community/School Library on Monday, June 24, 2024, at 11:00am to Share A Story. This program is geared toward children ages 3-6 years old. What you can expect at each Share a Story program: Read it - Read a book to the children; Watch it - View a show related to the book; Do it - Have fun making a craft. Each child in attendance will receive a FREE book!
