Old Fashioned Saturday Night
Events for Saturday, August 20, will kick off with a 5K Fun Run at 7:00am hosted by the Sapphire Dance Team. Then at 9:00am, a Make & Take Barn Quilt Craft Class hosted by the Smith County Historical Society will be held at the Kensington American Legion. Cost is $45. To sign up and prepay please contact Melissa Westbrook at 785-476-8166.

Sapphire’s Little Girls Dance Camp
Camp Date: Aug 13, 2022 at 8:30 AM
Performance Date: Aug 20, 2022 around 7:00 PM
Cost: $15 per dancer (multiple children families will get a slight discount)
The Sapphires decided to bring back camp T-shirts. If you don’t get it filled out before the 31st your child can still attend but may not receive a shirt. Contact sponsor Shelby Taylor with any questions.
Shorthorn Football!

There are scholarships available for those that qualify on the league website.
Practices are in Kensington from 6-7:30pm Monday through Friday the first two weeks(starting towards the end of August). Practices will then be Monday, Tuesday, Thursday through the month of September and October.
Games are on Saturdays and the first game is September 10th. The furthest game being Victoria. Most of our games will be within an hour drive. Contact Justin Abbott with any questions.
Last Day for the Pool
The Kensington Swimming Pool closes Aug 7. We will be open for swimming on Old Fashioned Saturday Night, August 20, from 3-4:30pm. No passes may be used but asking Free will donations for pool coping project to enter.
Legion Friday Night
This week at the Kensington American Legion we will have a special of our chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and gravy, and Texas toast. Our kitchen is open from 6-8pm and you can call 785-476-3204 to have your order ready for pick up. Hope to see you Friday!
Kensington Library News
Take the title of the last book you read and add “With a Chainsaw” to see what you get!
We held our Annual Ice Cream Social Event on Monday, August 1st. We always enjoy inviting the public to see what’s been going on in the library and introduce new members of our community library board. Our newest member is Patty Kuhlmann and we are glad to have her join us. The used books sale is still on display, and will be available through August 9, accepting free will donations towards the library projects fund.
